How Much Does a DM Van Actually Cost? A Complete Pricing Breakdown

March 5, 2026

No haggling. No hidden fees. Here’s exactly what you’ll pay when you purchase a DM Van.

One of the first questions we hear on every call and at every show is some version of “so what’s the real price?” or “does that price include the van?” And we get it. You’ve probably shopped for a car before and know how that game works…the sticker price is just a starting point, and by the time you’re done with fees, add-ons, and dealer markups, the number looks nothing like what brought you through the door.

DM Vans doesn’t work that way. We keep costs low by standardizing our floor plans across every build rather than customizing each one from scratch. That efficiency gets passed directly to you in the pricing because what you see on the website is what you pay. There are no dealer markups, no negotiation, and no games.

Here’s a complete breakdown of everything that goes into your total cost.

The Website Price: What It Includes

The price listed on the DM Vans website for any model and trim configuration is the van price. That’s the completed, RVIA-certified Class B RV – chassis, full interior build, electrical system, kitchen, bed platform, insulation, and all standard features for that trim level.

However, it does not include taxes, registration, shipping, or the doc fee. Those are separate and listed below. Additionally, these costs vary depending on where you live and what type of delivery you choose, so they’re calculated separately and outlined clearly during the purchasing process.

We truly believe in transparent pricing with no hidden build add-ons and no surprise “completion” costs after the fact. You get to see the van built the way it’s meant to be, and clearly defined next steps beyond that.

Additional Costs Beyond the Van Price

While the price listed on our website reflects the cost of the fully built DM Van, there are a few additional costs that apply to the purchase process. These are not part of the van itself but are standard expenses associated with vehicle ownership and delivery. We outline them here so you have a clear understanding of what to expect beyond the base van price.

$699 Doc and Processing Fee

This is a flat fee that covers financing paperwork processing, title and purchase document preparation, and your New Van Day walkthrough. The walkthrough is the comprehensive virtual or in-person session where our customer experience team walks you through every system in your van. This fee is line-itemed separately for full transparency.

Shipping (If Applicable)

If you’re not picking up at our facility in Rifle, Colorado, we deliver nationwide (except Hawaii and Alaska) via a third-party shipping company on a fully insured flatbed trailer. Shipping costs vary by distance, and the maximum is approximately $4,300. Delivery takes just a few days.

Free shipping is sometimes included in promotions, so ask your sales ambassador about current offers.

Sales Tax, DMV Registration, and Titling Fees

Sales tax is calculated based on your home address and varies by state, county, and city. Taxes and titling fee processes differ depending on whether you are in-state or out-of-state.

DM Vans partners with 50 State DMV if you are out-of-state to collect and remit taxes on your behalf as part of the titling process. You typically won’t need to visit the DMV yourself, which makes your life a lot easier during the purchasing process. However, it is important to note that some states may require a quick pop in the DMV.

For in-state purchases, we collect sales tax and titling fees, but not registration-specific fees. We work with the state to title the van, however, you will have to visit the DMV to finalize your registration and pay the fees to the DMV accordingly.

Final taxes and fees will be processed close to final sale because prices and fees vary by state and are subject to change yearly, and sometimes monthly.

Are Prices Negotiable?

No. And that’s a feature, not a limitation. Our standardized build process means every customer gets the same fair price. You’ll never wonder if the person who bought last week got a better deal. The price on the website is the price.

Model Starting Prices

Pricing increases as you move up in van size and trim level. Larger models offer more interior space, while upgraded trims add advanced chassis features and technology which are both reflected in the overall price.

LV3 Trailhead: Our lowest starting price

This is the most affordable way to get into a DM Van. It has a smaller footprint, streamlined layout, and is designed for efficiency. It keeps the price point lower while still delivering a fully built, RVIA-certified Class B with our complete electrical system and core features.

LV5 Trailhead: Mid-size, mid-price

Stepping up in size means stepping up slightly in price. You gain additional interior space, more storage, and more flexibility for longer trips or remote work without jumping to our largest platform. It’s the “middle lane” in both space and cost.

LV7: Highest starting price, most interior space

Our largest model carries the highest starting price because it offers the most square footage, storage capacity, and overall living space. If you want room to spread out or plan to travel long-term, this is the top-tier option in the lineup.

Backcountry Trim: Approximately $10,000 more than Trailhead (on any model size)

Backcountry pricing reflects the upgraded chassis and technology package. You’re paying for advanced safety systems, enhanced driver assist features, upgraded tech, and a more refined driving experience, not a different interior layout. It’s the same van size, but an elevated platform.

Visit the build configurator on our website for current pricing on every configuration.

Popular Add-On Pricing

The 2026 lineup lets you start with a base and add features à la carte. Here are the most common add-ons:

  • AC upgrade: approximately $4,200 (may require a battery upgrade if added to a Trailhead)
  • Composting toilet: $2,500
  • Rear ladder: $1,200
  • Running boards: approximately $1,500
  • Window cover bundle: $650
  • Rear seat add-on: $3,200

Our build configurator displays every available option along with real-time pricing. You can see exactly how each selection impacts the total so there are no surprises as you design your van.

What About Promotions?

DM Vans runs periodic promotions throughout the year that may include free shipping, accessory credits, tire and accessory bundles, or deposit matching. Promotions change regularly, so check the website or ask your sales ambassador what’s currently available.

A Sample Total Cost

We know this is a lot of information and building a van can be daunting, so we’ve put together a sample build so you can see exactly how the pricing would work.

Here’s what a typical purchase might look like (with hypothetical numbers for illustration):

  • LV7 Backcountry base price: $104,995
  • Composting toilet upgrade: $2,500
  • AC upgrade: $4,200
  • Doc fee: $699
  • Shipping to Texas: ~$4,000
  • Texas sales tax (8.25%): varies based on van, state, & add-on total
  • DMV registration/titling: varies by state

Once you build out your van and add the accessories you want, your sales ambassador will give you an exact quote during your consultation call, including tax estimates for your specific state.

2026 vs. 2025 Pricing

2026 pricing is approximately 10–15% higher than 2025, reflecting upgraded chassis features (all LV7s now come in the Backcountry trim), expanded customization options, increased battery and solar capacity, and self-heating batteries as standard.
